Everyone is different, their body is different, their thinking processes are different so this might not work for everyone. However, here are a couple tips that I find help me but find out for yourself what works for you. Each of our bodies work differently and it's VERY important to know your body. Listen to certain cravings. If you crave fruits or veggies, you're not getting enough vitamins and/or minerals, if you're craving meats or peanuts, you need more protien. The only things to avoid are carbs and fats. Carbs are a comfort food and a fast energy booster, if you absolutely need it, only eat a small amount and avoid fat at all costs. Just remember to listen to your phsyical body as well as your emotional. Don't over stress yourself but don't give yourself too much lee-way. Look through the guest book to find others who have visited and try to make contact, you can't do it alone.
How To Lose Weight-fast and secrative
Distractions:
1. Brush your teeth. It's always good to brush your teeth and take your time. They say to brush your teeth for four minutes, practice doing that, plus, I find toothpaste takes away my hunger.
2. Have a nice shower. Take your time in the shower, relax, shave, do whatever you want just take your time.
3. Listen to music, search the web for new music, research your favorite band, or look up band clothing or new releases.
4. Read pro-ana sites.
5. Read your thinspiration, search for more thinspiration, make a thinspiration book or movie.
6. Make a thinspiration CD
7. Clean, clean clean! Clean your room, clean the house, clean the basement.
8. Dust a few things in your room, boring but it's a good distraction.
9. Go through all your old junk laying about you room and organize it. (I'm constantly doing this, especially when I can't sleep, I have so many photo albums and paper work and all sorts of junk in my office that I organize.)
10. If you really want something to do. Figure out how many different ways there are to rearrange your books or pens or binders or anything.
11. Go through your old contacts and delete the ones you don't talk to anymore and update the ones that you do.
12. Call up your ana buddy and talk, or email them.
13. Make a forum. (I do this all the time) Those annoying fwds that are passed around, the fill in the blanks, make one of those. I probably have about thirty of them.
14. Do laundry.
15. When sitting in a group of people, tap your foot (or alone it doesn't matter as long as you're suppose to be still, you move), burn off unwanted calories.
16. Yoga is amazing. And so is exercise. It keeps you fit and strong but don't over do it either. I do yoga and it's truly amazing.
17. When you're feeling anxious or something, rest your hand on your stomach, take in a deep breath and feel your hand be pushed out as you breathe, do this five times. Then, if it's still not helping, move your hand to your chest and do the same. Then if that still isn't working, do the same to your shoulders. Feel your hands be pushed up as your shoulders rise and fall with each breath. It's very relaxing. Focus just on your breathing, nothing else, just the feeling of your hand as you breathe in and out slowly.
18. Take a nap or drink water. If you're thirsty or tired the body tends to confuse those with hungry.
19. Find a new hobby. For me it's finding a new author. Take up a new insturment, or anything to keep your hands busy. I also have a punching bag and that works like a charm.
20. Go for a walk. Get some fresh air. The air helps clear your system and helps you think more clearly.
21. Find pictures of something you find really unattractive and study it as you eat. Make food associations by eating and looking at something you find rather disgusting, eventually, the food will remind you of that. For cheese cake (I use to love it), I would picture lard every time I ate it and eventually, I couldn't even look at it without feeling sick.
Purging:
I don't encourage throwing up because it really doesn't help. First, the calories that you eat are absorbed within fifteen minutes of eating them. (I learned this from a doctor not too long ago) Not to mention the damage that purging does. Trust me on the damge that it does. Heart burn is uncomfortable and trust me when I say you don't want it when it gets so bad that you actually throw up because your esophagus' muscles are too damaged to keep the food in your stomach. However, I do completely understand the need to do it sometimes. I sometimes still need to do it despite the risks. But if you're going to do it, do it safely.
Do NOT use any aid! This includes no laxitives, no ipecac, no meds of any kind what so ever because these can all kill you. Whether it's dehydration or something else, it can kill you. Do it properly. Use your fingers or spoon or something long enough to make you gag but not do any damage.
Don't use any diuretics or water pills. They don't work and only make you lose water which is very important. If you're retaining water too much, drink the same amount of water only add a little bit of caffine like a cup of coffee or tea. But be careful not to drink too much caffine cause that dehydrates you as well, for every cup of coffee or diet soda or tea or anything, drink a glass of water. Not to mention, drinks make you fill fuller.
All in all, avoid throwing up whenever possible. It causes too much damage to risk it. It creates massive strain on your heart and head (trust me, I've given myself a horribly bloody nose from throwing up) and frankly, it's just too much of a risk. You will never reach you're goal if your lying dead in the middle of your bodily floods.
Keep a box of baking soda, a cup, some water. Rinse your mouth with baking soda dissolved in water after purging. This helps neutralize acids and spares your teeth and mouth somewhat.
Eat the healthy food first like veggies or fruit or anything low cal.
Try to avoid binging but it's nearly impossible to do so, so try to do it right. And if you can't get it right, do it right the next time. I find repeating to myself "don't give up what you want most for what you want at the moment" every time I feel like binging or eating something I shouldn't really helps. Always remember your goal.
Tips on Hiding it:
1. This works wonderfully, create foods that you've eaten. When no one is around, look in the fridge for foods that you would have eaten, throw them away (of course, the best way to do this is take it out to the trash) and when someone asks you, you can tell them what you ate and if they check, the ingredients are gone proving your story. An example is when I use to live with this one family who was very paticular about eating breakfast together, I use to wake up earlier than them and I'd like a bowl with yogurt or leave a little bit of cereal and milk in it and dump the rest out or feed it to the dog so that I could say I already ate. It works great, just don't over use it.
2. Don't raise suspicions. Try to keep everyone clueless. Practice before anyone sees it. This is what I mean by coming up with something you already ate before you leave your room in the morning! You must ALWAYS be prepared in order to keep people clueless. Never leave the room without having a breakfast, lunch and dinner excuse already made and at least some evidence in hand.
3. If you plan to say you stopped by a fast-food place or restaurant, be sure to take out several dollars from your wallet (or wherever you keep it) and hide them someplace they won't be discovered. Be sure also to stop and wait for about the amount of time it would have taken to eat the food before going home, and know what you supposedly ordered. The money you hide can be saved up as a reward.
4. Don't get angry. Don't deny everything if confronted. People will believe a little truth with a big lie much easier than a huge lie. Act as if it's no big deal instead of reacting emotionally and people will tend to believe you. This is a big one! Just the other day my partner said I felt like I had a lost some weight and it was difficult not to get defensive, especially because I was fasting at the time. My mom also commented the day before. If people are noticing weight loss, do NOT get defensive.
5. Tell people you're on a diet, you became a vegetarian, your doctor has you eating only certain things, whatever. Often people will be very helpful in keeping you from eating if they think there's a socially acceptable reason for it. This is a good one. I became a vegetarian as a result of Ana and it really has paid off. I've been able to get out of entire meals. The doctor one works great as well. This of course, only really works well with people you don't know very well like teachers or co-workers.
6. Don't show off your weight loss until you've reached the weight you want to remain at. People will start to watch you more carefully and maybe ask questions, and you want to avoid calling attention to yourself.
Don't get discouraged with yourself. You didn't put on weight overnight, and it won't come off overnight either. These things take time, and time will pass no matter how much you're eating.
How to achieve those impossible marks:
1. Organize, organize organize!!! There is never too much organization! Now, you cannot plan everything to the minute, but then again you might be like me and say you have a back up plan to the plan, and possibly a back up plan to the back up plan, but most people aren't. Get an organizer or anything of that sort and organize your time. Make lists or colors with highest priority, lowest priority, obligations, things that must get done, things that can wait and apply it strickly.
2. Set a goal. If your mark is 80 right now, set it for 85. In two weeks, set it for 90. Two weeks later, 95 and so forth. Every time you go down in marks, cut something out, but something like social time with friends or TV or anything like that. You only have one life and the average life span is 80 years, but you retire at 65 in Canada and America. If you're fifteen and looking at this site, you'll be using the next three years in high school, 4-9 years in university, 5 years building your career, 10-15 years 'settling down'... and where do you have time to go on holidays? You don't have enough time in this world to waste it by watching TV or playing video games. The world will continue on without you, try to keep up!
3. When someone tells you you're doing good, tell yourself you can do better. Even if you have the highest mark in your class, it's still not good enough because it's not 100%. Your best is good enough...for the guy sitting next to you. It's not good enough for you because saying everyone is special is saying no one is special. Everyone can get 85%, you are more important than 85%, you are smarter than the average person and therefore, your marks should reflect this.
4. This might be an obvious one, but possibly not, don't do drugs. It seriously screws up your life, your mind, your body and everything else. By saying yes to drugs, you are saying yes to being an idiot for the rest of your life. Yes, you can get off drugs, I did, but it has affected me permenantly. And guys, weed does kill your brain cells and so does alcohol. So don't be an idiot and don't do drugs. You will never, ever accomplish what you want for your life by doing drugs and well, you deserve more than ok. I"m an alcoholic, I know what it did to my marks in school, I am living proof that drugs/alcohol mess your life up, don't do them!
5. You are not better than everyone else, but you have to strive to be. Don't tell yourself your better than everyone because then you just become a proud smart-ass. Pride sullies the noblest character. Remind yourself daily, possibly constantly that there are people better than you. Use that to motivate you.
